Yes Some Hard Challenges But Don't Be Discouraged, Run To Jesus

Yes, it is good that from time to time, we realize and come face to face with the truth that we are doing a junk job at being living sacrifices for the Lord. It is good for us to recognize that we are failing to live for and live in the presence of Jesus Christ in many areas. Because the truth is if we are failing, we need to be honest and not just turn a blind eye. But the solution in moving towards holiness and giving more of ourselves to Jesus, as we give up sin and put to death self, is not trying harder to do all the right things in our own power. It is in our nature to make more rules and try to set up systems, so we are more accountable, thinking that will make us holy. But it won't. Now, accountability and some wise rules that help us walk closer to God are not terrible, but the only thing that will truly change us from the inside out, truly sanctify us, and make us holy is by fully embracing Jesus Christ in every area of our lives and allowing and pursuing His work by way of the Holy Spirit living in us. The solution is running to Jesus more and more and asking Him to grow our love for Him and grow our hatred for sin. Yes, we try harder, but what we try harder at is so important. We need to try harder and become more determined, not in simply doing better or setting up more systems of control, but in running more and more into Jesus' arms and asking Him for strength to die to self and walk in His ways.
