WALKING HUMBLY

Micah 6:8 reads

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.

And what does the Lord require of you?

To act justly and to love mercy

and to walk humbly with your God.

Today, this week, are you living to act justly? Are you praying that in all you do the Holy Spirit guides you and leads you to act justly and to seek out justice for those around you who have not been treated justly by others?

Are you praying that God gives you peace and allows you to not just respond to the situations that come up where you are wronged in a way that is absent of mercy? Are you showing the mercy that your Jesus showed you when he took your place on the cross for your sin and died to show you how much He loved you and to set you free? Are you living today showing the people in your life the same loved filled mercy that God has shown you?

And are you walking humbly WITH your God? No, not a pretend humility that seems humble but then goes about making what you want and think should happen because you know better than everyone else what God wants to happen. No, that's not really humility and let's be honest that not what walking with God looks like nor what it is. Are you truly walking with God? Is He the one your eyes are set towards, Is He the one who your ears are fixed on hearing? Is there humility in your heart? In your thinking? In your words and actions? Humility because you know you don't deserve even a second of His attention. Humility, because despite who we are, He still has this great love for us, and because of what Jesus Christ has made a way for us to walk once again with Him. Are you walking with God through faith in Jesus Christ by the leading of the Holy Spirit who lives in you today? And are you walking with Him in the humility that walking with Him deserves?

I pray that today, by seeking Jesus Christ's leading and through the strength and power of the Holy Spirit we live acting justly and seeking to correct injustice. We live loving mercy and showing love by imparting mercy to others because we were and are shown great mercy out of love. And we walk with our God in each moment living in the humility that walking with God should produce in us who don't deserve to walk and talk with such an incredible God of love, grace, truth and power. I pray today, we walk humbly with Jesus Christ our Lord, our Saviour, our God. Amen.
