TGIF!!! Am I right? Thank God It’s Friday! And I mean that. Stop right now, whisper a pray thanking the good Load that it is Friday, or just that it is today.
I don’t know what your week has been like but it’s Friday and God is good. My week, and today being Friday makes me think of Daniel 4 when Nebuchadnezzer goes crazy and become like a beast and then at the end of the seven years his wits returns to him. Man, what a breath of fresh air that must have been.
At the end of the week sometimes it seems we are in a similar boat, like the weekend offers a reprieve to have our wits return. Let us then like Nebuchadnezzar look up to Heaven and praise His all powerful and holy name. Here listen to this... this is how you do a TGIF the right way.
Take a read of Daniel 4:34-35
34 At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever.
His dominion is an eternal dominion; his kingdom endures from generation to generation. 35 All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: “What have you done?”
Let us thank God with the same hearts and wits as this. Amen.
