Do You Have a Critical Spirit?

The scripture talks about the evil of a critical spirit or a critical heart. These below are great messages calling us to check our hearts in this area of our lives.

We need to speak the truth in love, but two things must be present. First it must be the truth. It must be the truth that we are speaking, and if there is something wrong, we must make sure it is not just what we think is wrong or what we don't like but... but what the Spirit and the Word of God reveal as an error. We must speak this truth in love, not in a pushy way. Much of our critical heart is displayed in our attitudes. Often in conflict, our attitude of, 'I think I know more because...' is rooted in our pride because we THINK we know more and have not really done the research or studied or investigation, nor do we even have successful experience to really understand the situation. Yet, we think we know more because we are proud and, in many ways, think we know better about everything. If we are honest with ourselves, we want control or, in insecurity, want to elevate and glorify ourselves.

These two videos were great challenges to my heart; I pray they challenge you as well and find you running to Jesus in repentance or running to Him as your shield and fortress against this sin forming in your life.
