We are again talking about discipleship.
My aim is to have a Thoughts From The Pastor discipleship focus for the next couple weeks so that we have a very good base to develop our own personals discipleship action plan, so to speak. The bible gives us great blueprints for discipleship yet we are so often don't engage in any type of discipleship save from siting in our pews Sunday morning service because we feel we don't understand how to do it. I want to give us some Keys To Remember. Coupled with last weeks overview of what a Disciple is... Learner, Applier, Reproducer, we will be better equipped in discipling others. Or, at least have a good understanding as to what is good discipleship. Understanding what discipleship is all about will help our own growth in Christ. And, as we become mature in Christ and begin to be obedient to the Word of God in this area we can start being those who engage in discipling others as we are lead by the Holy Spirit.
This weeks Key To Remember- The Older Seek Out The Younger.
Now, that does not mean you shouldn't engage in a discipleship relationship with some younger person who asks you to disciple them. This just means that biblically the normative model places the responsibility to engage discipleship in the hands of the mature disciples of Jesus Christ.
